Wedding bells, free slurpees, and a robber on the loose

I'm happy to announce that recent events have kept me quite busy in beautiful Coeur d'Alene. It goes without saying that it's hotter than balls outside which means that I've actually had a chance to work on changing the color of my pasty white skin. Grant and I have been teaching Jersey how to swim with considerable success! She's quite the waterdog and loves hanging with us at the beach. We even found our own little beach area that is away from the city beach so we don't have to worry about her chasing some poor innocent child.

My good friends got married last Saturday and I had the honor of being a bridesmaid. We had a great time getting them all ready to say their vows and it was a beautiful ceremony overlooking Lake Coeur d'Alene. Now they're off in Hawaii galabanting around...they better be bringing me back some damn coconuts.

Yesterday was Grant's birthday and although we both had to work all day, we spent the evening playing golf with our newlywed friends. I have to say I was incredibly nervous to set foot on the course, but once I got out there and actually made the ball fly a decent amount, I had a ton of fun. We pretty much closed the course as we rolled in our carts after dodging through the sprinklers and losing the last of our balls in the lake at the end of the ninth hole. Turns out, it gets pretty hard to aim after dark. Go figure.

As if my busy life wasn't enough, my big brother is getting married next weekend. More wedding bells to add to the mix. It's pretty exciting though, especially since his fiance is wonderful and fits in our family all too well. We're heading down next week to spend some time preparing and then the big day is on Saturday. Hopefully all goes well, the right names are said, and life is grand.

On a side note, today marks the anniversary of two completely different occasions. The first is the 80th anniversary of 7-Eleven, in which case they are giving away free 7.11 ounce slurpees. I know it's not much, but it is a slurpee and it is free, so there should be no complaining. The other anniversary is one much less exciting, but no less memorable. One year ago today, our duplex that I currently live in burned to the ground. I was looking at pictures of the fire and WOW is it weird to think that I live there now. I just hope that the ghost doesn't come out tonight for a live show.

Anywho...I think that's all the news for this afternoon. Oh, except the armed robber that may or may not still be on the run. We've been told to stay indoors just in case. Hence, the afternoon blog. Cheers!
